This is a link to the game I will be working on a small trailer for the game shortly.
Hello, this is my first “complete” game I’ve created on the Unreal Engine. The idea behind this game is you are trapped within a nightmare. The only way to escape that nightmare is to collect the tokens strewn throughout that nightmare in order to pay the toll for the night.
Forest Build can be requested however it is 2GB.
Forest Level Video will be up soon.
What is your game be about?
My game will be about a character who is trying to escape from a series of nightmares each day. The only way to escape is to collect these tokens that will allow them to wake up.
What challenges will you present to the player?
The challenge of this game will be to collect a number of a certain items in order to get to the next level. However there will be enemies lurking about, each level will probably have a different type of enemy depending on what I can do.
What will the overall look be?
I am planning on having 3 levels with very different looks to them but the overall atmosphere will be a uneasy and ominous look to them. What I have planned out so far are a warehouse,a modern looking house, and a forest with a maze.
What is a tentative title?
How many levels will you have?
So far I am planning on about 3 levels.
What I have been doing so far in class will be part of the mid-term.Here is a sample of what I will be doing with matinee’s
This is a screenshot of one of the assets I am making for the house level…. more to come
What does 1,3,2 mean when creating something?
The 1,3,2 process is the idea of conceptualizing and having the idea and then going about working on that idea and and making it an actual thing. The reason why this is done is to have a sample of the product and to show that it is a feasible one.
Why is this so important for specifically visual creation?
Its important because if we go the traditional 1,2,3 route most games would not have a single foot out the door before they are shut down. Its important for visual creations to go through the 1,3,2 route in order to get ahead and have more time to create a compelling example of what is being made, because if you don’t implement the idea its only just and idea written down on paper without anything to back it up with on whether it will do well or if it is even possible.
